Blog | Loran Faber excited by Jerez but looking for more

Hi Everybody,

It was a great experience this weekend with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookie Cup in Jerez.
It was a dream come true, too ride with all the great riders.

The first free practice was in wet conditions, I learned too know the track very fast. The KTM felt very good.

The qualification, first laps went very well, the times were getting better, but on lap eight, in the fast corner 13 I fell very hard, the bike was damaged and I must see the doctor. But I was okay, only my finger was painful. The mechanics had a lot of work to do, too prepare the bike for the race, but they succeed. The bike was ready for the race.

The first race I started okay, but I had to avoid the crash before me, so I was a little bit delayed, and I didn't had a good feeling because of the crash a day earlier, but through the race I got more confidence and the times were faster at the end. I finished in 16th position and I was satisfied with that.

Race 2, I had a good start, but it didn't feel as good as the day before, also the temperature was higher, and so I had a difficult race, but I finished 18th. I was not so happy with that, because I know I can do better, but I was happy that I finished two times, and I learned a lot from this weekend.

I want to thank all the mechanics, and all the members of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookie Cup for this weekend. And I will see you all, on my home circuit in Assen on 24th and 25th June. But first I have a race in Le Mans for the Junior World Championship Moto 3.

See You,
