Filip Salač Brno

Blog | Filip Salač learning all the time at Brno

Hello everybody,

I'm going to tell you about my home GP.

It was very hard weekend for me because my grandfather had very big crash in the car and he is very injured.

On Wednesday I was with all the Czech GP riders in the Children's hospital in Brno and than we were at a shopping centre to sing autographs.

On Friday was first practice and it was my first time with the Moto3 bike at Brno so I was looking for lines and gears but I wasn't happy with the setting on the bike. So in second practice we had to do a perfect setting for the qualification but we made a bad step. We had many problems with the rear grip.

In qualifying I tried to push but it wasn't possible with the setting so I had to come to the box and we made some changes and then I had time for 2 laps. I did my best lap in the last lap but I wasn't happy with 13th pos. I knew that I could do better but I had broken my clutch.

In first race I had a good start but at the fourth corner started problems with the gearbox so I lost 6 positions but then the problem continued and on the third lap I had a crash in corner 11.

On Sunday it was raining all day. For our race wasn't raining but the race was on wet tyres. The line was dry and I had bad start and in the first corner I was 20th and in the first 2 laps I was looking on the track - where was dry and where wet.

So then I pushed hard and 3 laps before the finish I was 8th but my tyre condition stepped down and I had to go little bit carefully and in the last lap I had good battle with Bonoli and in the end I was 11th.

After the second race I'm little bit happy because I think that I made a good step in the group because now I'm more aggressive.

I want to say thanks so much to my family and my mechanics and also to my fans because I enjoyed Brno with them.

See you in Misano your Filip #12
