Blog | Darryn going well in wet and dry in Assen | 2014

Hi all,

Assen - Rounds 4 & 5

Thursday in practise I was battling with suspension problems but we were making progress and I managed to qualify in 10th position on the grid.

For Race 1 the heavens opened and it poured with rain! I got off to a slow start, with not much rain experience I slowly worked my way into it, keeping it up right and finishing in 10th place.

Race 2 - dry race. I got off to a good start, moving my way up the field, unfortunately I ran wide onto the wet astro turf were I had a big moment. I almost fell and it caused me to lose a couple of positions but I managed to finish up in 11th place.

I have spent the last week in Spain with my family. When the races are only two weeks apart we stay in Europe as flying back home to South Africa can be rather costly. It has been very hot and I have spent time on the beach and training with my brother.

Looking forward to Germany.

See you all there,
