Beatriz Neila Assen

Blog | Beatriz Neila – From Race to Race I’m doing better

Hello everyone!!!

The third and fourth race of the Red Bull Moto GP Rookies Cup was held on the weekend of 24-25 at the circuit of Assen. It was my second contact with the KTM after the tests of the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

I traveled to Amsterdam on Wednesday with my family. We settled in a very nice place very close to the circuit of Assen.

On Thursday we arrived at the circuit in the morning to collect everything necessary to have everything ready. In the afternoon we meet to have a briefing and go around the circuit to visualise the track.

On Friday we did both training and qualy. I was going down my times and every time I felt better with myself and with the bike. I did finish in very good positions but for my chances it is not so bad since the Rookies is a fairly level championship.

With the great pilot Maria Herrera before leaving for practice

Saturday was the first race of the weekend and for me the first race with the KTM. Not very good temperature but we could ride perfectly. I started very confident and very eager to be able to reduce my times. When everything was ready for the light to go out, I made a good start but due to a mechanical failure we had to leave the race. It was a shame because I lost kilometres with the KTM that for me are very important.

A small scare that caused me to lose the group

Sunday was the second race for which the weather was very bad and there was even a change of tires. I started again confident and very eager. In the first lap we formed a small group in which I started to advance but because of a great high site I lost the group and I was left alone.

In the middle of the race it started to rain and I did not feel very good so I decided to finish and slow down. With all the bad things that have happened I am happy and with much desire to reach Sachsenring!

Now in these two days until Sachsenring I have to train hard to be better prepared physically!!

Thanks Red Bull Rookies Cup for all!!

See you in Sachsenring!!
