Blog | Barry Baltus training hard for his home race in Assen

Hi everybody,

I don't know if you already knew it but, like many people in Belgium, I love cycling! In the last few weeks, I have been training a lot in order to be ready for Assen. I have been cycling every day and this week I even did a mountain bike ride in the woods with my friend Romain. It was hard and dirty as you can see in the picture above.

Last week, I did a one-day motorcycle course at the Didier De Radiguès School on the Mettet circuit. This was the second time I participated. I rode a 600cc bike in order to manage my lines and to improve my position on the bike.

I received the advice of former 250cc French champion Eric Mizera and Cédric Tangre, who obtained a Moto2 Wild Card on the last French GP. It was great to share our experiences all together.

I also continued training on the Dirt-track circuit behind my house 3 times a week. Before each race, I also practice doing a dozen starts at a red light and it pays off because so far, I have never missed a start.

I can't wait for this race weekend with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Assen, which is like our home race for me and Sasha De Vits.

Hope to see you all there!

Barry
