I had a race in Catalunya for the CEV Repsol Junior Would Championship last week. I was able to have free practice from Thursday so I could set up my bike well.
In Friday practice, I built a great feeling with the bike so I pushed as hard as possible but I crashed out in the last practice. It was a big crash, the bike and my self had a a lot of damage.
In QP1, I just checked the bike if it was ok. That why I couldn't get a good lap time.
In QP2, I had was from my position before and I couldn't concentrate and get a good rhythm at all. As it ended up, it was the worst result I ever had in my life.... I'm 23rd. I had meeting with team director and mechanics as to what was the cause.
Race1, I made a great start and passed thirteen riders on the first lap. I didn't look back and kept pushing hard until the end. I didn't realise my exact standing because my team mate crashed but I was very happy to be on the podium as I'm 3rd.
Race 2, I did a great start again and only focused on catching up to the front. In the last 2 laps, I was battling for 3rd position with 6 riders. A rider crashed badly, out came the red flags to end the race and I was 4th.
Overall from the worst QP, I learnt a lot this weekend including, it is very important to set up bike and what should I keep to motivate myself.
By the way, after I went back home I received massage and acupuncture treatment which is one of the oriental medicines by a specialist in my home.
Because I commute between Japan and Europe in a month is very hard and also from the daily training and occasional crashes all inflict a huge damaged on my body.
The therapist has special hands that help with muscle tension in my body and finds out where it needs acupuncture treatment.
In a few days I will go back to Europe, Assen, The Netherlands. After the treatment I'm in really good shape and ready to go to the race!
See you there!!
