The weekend of September 24th was the last test of the Red Bull Rookies Cup this year and also for me. Motorland is a very fast track and its layout fits my type of riding. The weekend I dedicated to finding the best possible setting on my motorcycle.
It was a weekend in which the work has been profitable, in all aspects; so much so, that even though FP1 was on a wet track I placed my KTM in second position in the table.
Finally I was able to prove that a wet track does not cause me any problem to be competitive, as I already predicted in the circuit of Brno. For the QP I qualified in third position for the grid; I did not want to take many risks to get a better position because in Motorland it is not very important.
Saturday was the penultimate race, the championship was in play, it was really me who was in a tough position to get it, although mathematically it was possible.
From the beginning I tried to dominate the race in a continuum of overtaking that went all the way. I knew that in the long straight they would overtake me on the last lap, but I could not do anything but fight for a podium position.
I finally went through the finish line in third place. The championship was awarded to Masaki, from here I give you my congratulations.
Only left to fight for the runner-up.
Sunday's race only had one option for me: to win it. I wanted to say goodbye in the best way possible.
From the first lap I tried to dominate with authority. And I got it. My most direct rivals were falling to the ground trying to follow my race pace.
I managed to finish more than two seconds ahead of the second. I climbed again to the top of the podium and managed to revalidate again, vice-champion of the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
For me it has been so gratifying to be twice runner-up of this cup, as for others to have won.
