Aleix Viu Jerez

Blog | Aleix Viu overcame Saturday to win on Sunday

Hello everyone, friends,

Finally the first weekend of races of the RBRC of this year 2017, so desired by me. I really had a bit of a wait from the day of the last race of 2016 at Motorland until this past weekend in Jerez. Going back to my KTM and being able to give the GAS without looking back was my maximum expression.

The weekend seemed not perfect. Some technical problems demanded that I had to change to a reserve bike for the race of Saturday, because despite all the effort and great work that the staff made it was not enough to be able to solve the problems completely.

That meant that the first race was outside the top positions. I had to fight a lot on the track to stay in the top 5, waiting for the last race laps to try to reach the podium. With a lap to go I placed in third position, but a fall caused a red flag and had so the result was counted back a lap when "unfortunately" I was in fifth position.

I could not give up, just the opposite. I had to grow up against my adversities and grow stronger. And that I did. I completely changed everything I had planned and put together a new strategy. He had to take the risk and knew that the worst thing that could happen is to end up just like in Saturday's race.

Sunday's race I tried to control from the first lap. It was really difficult, but finally I was able to cross the finish line in first position.

It has been a little complicated weekend, but I have finally been able to rescue a satisfactory end.

I hope you enjoyed watching the races this weekend, my friends.

A hug.

See you in Assen,
